April 12 FUMS Friday Night 6-Pack

FUMS Friday Night 6-Pack

Hello friends --Some housekeeping notes before we crack open the 6-Pack. There won't be a Friday Night 6-Pack next week. First one I've ever missed. I am going on vacation. Can't remember when I've done that last - where I actually didn't work at all.  The only "work" I'm going to do (other than the work of getting the cocktail to my mouth repeatedly) is that I'm going to spend a lot of time thinking about what to do next.  I am working on an online course and membership site called "Patients Getting Paid" (interested? Sign up here: Patients Getting Paid) for people with chronic conditions to find legitimate work from anywhere gigs. It is so much more work than I could have ever imagined.  I started FUMS in 2011 and have written countless blog posts, posted thousands of articles, posts and comments on the Facebook page, and am now recording my 41st podcast episode. It too is an enormous undertaking. Something's got to give. I have been self-funding FUMS now for 8 years. On paper - the answer is pretty obvious - but my heart and soul have been poured into FUMS - and I feel like I've actually made a difference in people's lives. There's the rub. There's what makes this something that has to be pondered on a beach over a drink with an umbrella in it. On to the good stuff:1.  I'm including this one because it's got some great information and great suggestions about constipation and MS. When I was looking around to find interesting articles to post on the FUMS Facebook page this week, I came across this article and clicked to read more. Turns out - I wrote the article!!  Gotta love MS!  Constipation2.  This is an interesting article about MS and how it affects women in particular. As the author sees it: MS Is a Feminist Issue3.  I LOVE this one - a nurse with MS in Jacksonville, Florida got HSCT (stem cell transplant) on Facebook LIVE!!!  Check it out: Stem Cell LIVE4.  In a study comparing the two, Tecfidera was found to be better at preventing relapses than Augabio. I'm glad about that - did I mention I'm on Tecfidera? Sorry if you're on Aubagio. Read more here: Tec's Better5.  Here's a great article detailing all of the possible joys that MS can bring to a woman's life (I'm such a smart ass aren't I?) 15 Symptoms of MS in Women6.  Spring has sprung - at least here in southern Virginia. As such, I've been working outside a bit and the parallels of relationships and pruning plants hit me right between the eyes. So I wrote a blog post about it: Time To Deadhead Some Friends  Please post a comment under the blog post on the site - it really helps with "Google juice"!!That's all folks. Hope this has been of value to you. Remember, no FN6P (Friday Night 6-Pack) next week. I hope you miss it (and me)!! I'm off to plant my ass in the sand with a drink in my hand. Cheers -- Kathy#FUMS

Sometimes it helps the stress, just to say "F-U-M-S"
