FUMS Friday Night 6-Pack 🍺

Hello friends --I have a couple of things to share that I'm proud of - but feel weird about sharing because it just sounds like bragging. Well - maybe I am bragging a bit. The FUMS Blog was named one of Healthline's Top MS Blogs of 2019! AND - I was recently (yesterday) featured on a local news story about FUMS and Patients Getting Paid - where the news anchor (who also has MS and I interviewed for the FUMS Pod - Episode 14) called me "feisty and fearless"! LOVE that. I want that on my headstone!! Here's a link to that interview if you're interested: FUMSOk - enough of that. Let's get down to the serious stuff. Here is this week's FUMS Friday Night 6-Pack:1. I'm sooooo damned excited about this podcast series that started this morning. I'm interviewing people with MS from various countries around the globe to see what their diagnosis, treatment, and healthcare systems are like. It's been absolutely eye-opening. Listen to the first one with my wonderful podcast editor Steve Woodward from England, of the blog It's A Shit Business right here: MS Stories From Around The World2. Did you see that 2 new drugs for MS just received FDA approval?? Yep. Two. 2. Dos. Wow. Big week for MS! Here's the scoop: FDA Approves Two New MS Drugs3. In the "I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing" department, CVS and Walgreens are going to start selling CBD Oil. What do YOU think?? Here's the story: CVS & Walgreens & CBD - Oh My! 4. Oh Canada! Are you singing it too? Well - I want to thank them for putting $1.5 Million toward MS and Cannabis research on behalf of us all. Here's that article: Canada Smoked Us on The Research (see what I did there?)5. There is more talk in Washington about declaring the Affordable Care Act (ACA) unconstitutional and striking the whole thing down. UGH. That leaves all of us wondering what happens if you have a pre-existing condition. Here's an article addressing that potential issue: Pre-Existing Conditions6. Now this is cool: The Consortium of MS Centers announced two contests that are aimed at creating new technologies that improve the quality of life of people with Multiple Sclerosis. Thank you CMSC!! Read all about it right here: Contests to Help US!!That's all folks. Hope this week's 6-Pack left you happy! As always - I LOVE to hear from you so - hit "reply" and let me know what's shakin' in your world! Warmly -- Kathy#FUMS
