FUMS 6-Pack 🍻🍻🍻

Hello friends --Thank you so much for all of the emails lending support for me and my family and inquiring about my brother. He died peacefully Monday morning. I both dreaded and hoped for that call. We are so grateful that he is out of his pain and at peace. He was an amazing and hilariously funny guy. I'll miss him terribly. The world is dimmer because he's no longer in it. So - what's going on in the world of MS you ask?? Well - allow me to tell you:1. Doctors and nurses involved in the care of people with multiple sclerosis (MS) at a center in Scotland “highly” value the existence of a Pelvic Health Clinic for referrals — where patients identified as having concerns related to sexual health can be referred for consultation for guidance and care with a sexual specialist — a small study found. Clinicians Find Pelvic Health Clinic Helpful for Patient Sexual Health2. Attention women of child bearing years: The majority of multiple sclerosis (MS) patients who stop taking Tysabri (natalizumab) before or when they become pregnant experience a disease relapse during pregnancy or shortly thereafter, according to a study out of Germany. Patients Who Stop Tysabri for Pregnancy at Higher Risk for Relapse3. A new clinical trial for folks with progressive MS: Sweden, Like France, OKs Start of Masitinib Trial in Progressive MS4. Valentine's Day is almost here!! I look forward to that day each year so I can say "Happy VD"!! My kids want to hide when I do it! That makes it even more fun! In honor of VD - here's an article by two of my favorite MS'ers - Dan & Jennifer Digmann - married - both have MS. And they are so damned in love it's beautiful (and a little nauseating). Love, Marriage and MS5. Maintaining a nutritious diet is important for your overall health, but it can also help you manage multiple sclerosis symptoms. And the foods you avoid are just as important as the ones you eat. 7 Foods to Avoid When You Have MS6. Cold weather aggravates fatigue and spasticity for some with MS, but that doesn’t mean you have to hibernate all winter. What to Do When Cold Weather Worsens MS SymptomsThat's all folks. Hope you learned something in this little newsletter o'mine. And remember - love 'em if you got 'em - because they are too soon gone. ❤️Warmly -- Kathy#FUMSP.S. If the FUMS Podcast has helped you in any way - learning, laughing, something to share with your family to help them understand, questions to ask your doctor, etc. - I sure would appreciate you hitting "reply" to this email and letting me know in the form of a "review" that I can read on my upcoming 100th episode. Can't believe it's 100 episodes. Wow - time flies. And please, send it soon. I'm recording it this week. Thanks in advance for the help.
