FUMS Friday Night 6-Pack 🍻

Hello friends --I'm back - and things have (marginally) improved since last week. Last week was a complete cluster. This week - well - I replaced the carpet in my living room where we had the flood - and I hate the carpet (drinking through that) and my 17-year-old-daughter hit a deer on her way home from work the other night. She's fine - her car is not. I'm on my way to bring the car to the shop now. I have apparently pissed off the Universe and am saying my "Mea Culpa's" in an effort to shake off the bad mojo and get my groove back. I'll let you know how that works in next week's Friday Night 6-Pack. Wish me luck!!Enough about me - what's been going on in the world of MS this week you ask?? Glad you asked. Here to go:1. I had a HUGE response to my offer of free coaching from last week's FN6P. I'm so grateful (and quite surprised) at the interest level. I'm going through all the emails and will be announcing the winners soon (and I'll be personally contacting you if you won!!).2.  I did a video with my kids talking with them about what it's like to have a parent with MS. I purposefully didn't talk with them about it before I turned on the camera so it was the first time I heard their responses as well. It's very enlightening and a great glimpse into what it's like for kids whose parents have MS. Here's a link to that video:  Kids Whose Parents Have MS & The Wonderful Results3.  There has been a TON of media coverage in the last week about Stem Cell Transplants for MS. Here is a video from CBS This Morning, including a short interview of Dr. Burt from Northwestern University who is the lead investigator/researcher for their stem cell project. Watch it here:  Stem Cell Video4.  While I'm not happy that I have MS, I'm forever grateful that it's me and not my kids. However - kids do get MS and it's heartbreaking. Here's a story of one such kid: One Family's Story5.  MS nerve pain is the worst. It's sooooo different from any other kind of pain I've ever experienced. Here is a great article about how to find some relief:  MS Nerve Pain6.  Brain shrinkage and atrophy scare me. How about YOU?  Here's an interesting (though scary) article about that subject:  Decline in Brain Volume Driven by Gray Matter Atrophy in MS Patients Despite Tysabri Treatment

That's all folks. Hope your week was better than mine and that we all have a great one next week!!  Please be sure to listen to the FUMS Podcast Show (available wherever you get your podcasts), and come on over the FUMS Facebook community and chat with me and the whole FUMS Nation!Warmly -- Kathy#FUMS

Sometimes it helps the stress, just to say "F-U-M-S"
