FUMS 6-Pack Is BAAAAAACK!! 💥

Hello friends!! How's things?? Happy 2022!! 🥳 It's been a minute since I sent the last 6-pack! I hope you enjoyed your holidays. Both of my girls were home from college (the youngest is still here for another week!!) so I had a GLORIOUS time! Since I sent out a 6-pack last, there have been a couple of FUMS Podcast episodes that have been published. Dr Rhonda Voskuhl talked about her research into the sex differences in MS and Terry Wilcox of Patients Rising shared what's going on (or isn't) in healthcare legislation Washington and what each of us can do to get our voices heard. Really great episodes I highly recommend you have a listen!! Let's get to the 6-pack, shall we?? 1. Speaking of great and inspirational podcast episodes, one dropped this morning! It's MS'er Adam Powell, who lost his ability to walk within 5 months of his diagnosis - and has fought his way back to walk again! He shares what has helped him most - and his story of going on a cross-country road trip ALONE. He's an inspiring guy. Here's where to listen: Adam Powell 2. In the history of MS symptoms - there has never been one more poorly named: The MS HUG 🤗 Poorly Named MS Hug 3. Sometimes described as a "zinger," dysesthesia comes on suddenly. The painful sensations often strike the feet, hands, legs, and other areas of the body. For many people living with multiple sclerosis (MS), dealing with these zingers is something they know all too well. Do YOU get these?? Zingers 4. Not all DMTs work the same way in all people. You might be at a point where you're considering switching medications. Whether you're thinking about switching or you've already made the switch, there are at least nine important reasons you'll need to see your doctor. Talk with your Doc (I rhyme all the time!!) 5. Have you ever felt an itch that just wouldn't go away, one where the more you scratch, the more it itches? Although itching for no apparent reason may sound like a psychological problem, it's a very real phenomenon for people with #MS. That Itch Is a Bitch 6. And now for some good news: Surprise Medical Bill Ban Now in Effect That's all folks. Hope you find some helpful information in this newsletter. If I can help you with anything, please, drop me an email and let me know at [email protected] or meet me over in the FUMS Facebook community and let's chat! Thanks. Warmly -- Kathy #FUMS
P.S. I'm interviewing a financial advisor/estate attorney about financial planning with a chronic illness AND I'm interviewing a divorce attorney about specific considerations for divorce with a chronic illness. Please hit "reply" and give me any questions you'd like me to ask either and/or both of them. I'll get YOUR questions answered on the FUMS Podcast Show! Thanks for your help!
Sometimes it helps the stress, just to say "F-U-M-S"
