FUMS Friday Night 6-Pack 🍺

Hello friends --It's been a tough week. I had a STAT MRI ordered due to a new symptom and a week later I still can't get my results. WTF? It's unconscionable. And this kind of shit happens when you are least able to handle it - when you're flaring and in pain, etc. But I know I'm preaching to the choir. Here are this past week's 6 topics I found most interesting in MS:1.  The latest episode in the international series of podcast interviews with MS'ers from around the world about their dx and tx stories - and how their countries deal with healthcare (warning: this will piss you off and you'll want to move) was published this morning. This one is from Canada. Click and listen right here (but be sure to subscribe so you don't miss any): Oh Canada2.  I am sooooo pissed off about our healthcare system in this country - especially after interviewing so many MS'ers from other countries and hearing their experiences WITHOUT the stress and $$$ we deal with. And the drug manufacturers are crooks. VERY interesting piece on 60 Minutes this week. Did you see it? No worries. I got choo Boo!  Generic Drug Company Executives Are F'ing With Drug Prices3.  SUPER interesting article about the link between stress and autoimmune disease and what gut bacteria has to do with it all. Here you go: Gut Bacteria and Autoimmunity 4.  Are you on Tysabri and worried about your risk of PML? Seems they've identified a way to lower that risk. Read more here:  Extended Interval Dosing Could Help5.  Do YOU get "L'hermitte Sign"? It's that weird buzzing/pain you feel when you look down. I do - it's a real pain in the neck (see what I did there??)!  Read more here: L'hermmite Sign6.  Jamie-Lyn Seigler and Selma Blair are both celebrities with MS - and I REALLY appreciate their voices in this fight. They've recently become friends and are joining in their activism. Check it out:  Celebrities with Some GritSo that's all folks.
