FUMS Friday Night 6-Pack 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

Hello friends --Happy Friday!!!! Friday usually doesn't mean all that much to me. My husband's a golf pro so he works every weekend, my kids are busy and gone so I work most weekends too! BUT THIS FRIDAY IS SPECIAL: my oldest daughter, Maggie Mae, is coming home from college for the first time in 6-weeks!!!! It's Fall Break at her college and as soon as I'm done writing this FFN6P - I'm driving up to pick her up. CAN.  NOT.  WAIT.So - that's what's happening in my life. You know I LOVE to hear what's going on in yours - so hit "reply" and let me know!!And we're off:1. Let me give you a big 'ole heads up: next week's podcast is EPIC. I interviewed Dr. Aaron Boster. Do you know that name? If not - you need to. He's A. MAZ. ING. Check out his YouTube Channel - an MS specialist talking ALL THINGS MS. We chatted a bit and then I asked him questions that folks from the FUMS community had sent in. SOOOOOOO interesting! So - make plans to sit down with your favorite sompin' sompin' in your FUMS mug (then take a picture of yourself with that mug and post it on the FUMS Facebook page to enter to win a $50 Visa Gift Card!) and listen to this one - episode number 49. It's a good one!2.  AND - I have another podcast recommendation: America Dissected. It's narrated by an epidemiologist that takes a deep dive into our U.S. healthcare system (including drug costs), why it's like it is and how to change it. I binge-listened to the first 3 episodes and I keep checking to see if any others are out yet. Knowledge is power. Arm yourself!!3.  A new study just out shows that Syracuse has the highest rate of MS in the U.S. WHAT?!?  I know. Kind of crazy. Why is that? Loads of conjecture. Learn more right here: Sorry Syracuse - You Lose4.  Neuroscientists at the University of Virginia are now a step closer to finding a cure for multiple sclerosis (MS). A new study reveals that cells that had typically been ignored could actually be one of the things causing MS. Check out the article: UVA Finds Surprising Contributor to MS 5.  Targeting Toxic T Helper Cells Seen to PREVENT MS in Mouse Model. Whoa. That's big. Read it here: Preventing MS!6.  In the "no shit Sherlock" department - researchers found that cognitive function (measured with the Symbol Digit Modalities Test), physical disability status (measured with the Expanded Disability Status Scale), and mood and anxiety symptoms (measured with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale) significantly predicted vocational status.  Predictors of Work DisabilityThat's all folks. Hope you find value in this little newsletter of mine. And the podcast. And the blog. And the Facebook page. And the Twitter updates. Did I mention that I'm coming up on the 50th episode of the FUMS Podcast Show? I'd REALLY appreciate it if you'd record yourself talking about how FUMS has helped you, maybe your favorite pod episode or just good wishes for FUMS in the future. You can just record it on your phone's voice recorder and email it to me at [email protected]. I'd LOVE to incorporate the voices of the FUMS community on the 50th episode. Thanks in advance for your help. I need it by October 15th, please. Is there anything I can do for you personally?  Email me at [email protected] or meet me over in the FUMS Facebook community and let's chat!  Thanks.Warmly -- Kathy#FUMS
