FUMS Friday Night 6-Pack 🍺🍺

Hello friends --Is it Friday already??? It is! AND - it's Homecoming weekend here in Chesapeake, Virginia! The weather has FINALLY turned from a sauna to Fall - and I'm LOVING it!! As soon as I finish this newsletter I'm heading out in this glorious weather for a walk. I love the smell of this time of year - and the crunchy leaves on the ground and the beautiful colors of the leaves yet on the trees. It's my favorite time of year. What is YOURS?? Hit reply and let me know - and tell me how you're doing and if I can help you with anything.OK - enough about the damned leaves lady. Let's get to it. 1. THIS IS IT: the interview with Dr. Aaron Boster!! If you don't know who he is - you should learn about him. He is an MS specialist neurologist that started a YouTube channel to help educate his patients between visits. The rest of the world found it and boy are we glad we did. He explains things so clearly. I interviewed him about who he is, why he started the YouTube channel - and then I asked him YOUR questions. Go ahead - go grab a little sompin' sompin' to sip on and click on the link to listen. You'll be so glad you did: Dr. Aaron Bosters Answers YOUR Questions About MS2. Based on which DMT you're on, you could be at greater risk for infection. Read more here: Different Risks for Different MS Therapies3. LOVE this story. It's all about how the host of "Last Week Tonight" John Oliver bought $15 million of medical debt for $60,000 and forgave it all - because he could. It's an older article but it's such a feel-good thing - and we all need a little of that in our lives. Read more right here: FU Medical Debt4. Predicting progression: "Using a model that included a patient’s age, gray matter lesions, and gray matter atrophy, researchers were able to correctly predict MS progression in about 94 percent of participants who maintained relapsing-remitting MS status, and 88 percent of those who transitioned to the secondary-progressive stage." Prediction of progression from technology. That sounds good! Predicting Progression5. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society awarded more than $339,000 to Clene Nanomedicine to support clinical tests into its lead candidate CNM-Au8 in treating multiple sclerosis (MS) by protecting nerve cells and restoring myelin. WHAT??!?!? Yep - those magic words: REMYELINATION and RESTORATION. 6. Remember - the 50th episode of the FUMS Podcast Show will be released on November 1st. To celebrate that monumental milestone, I'm GIVING AWAY a $50 Visa Gift Card to the winner of the "Share Your Mugshot" contest on the FUMS Facebook page.
