Oh L👀K - it's the FUMS 6-Pack 🥳

Hey - And the heat continues . . .🥵  Wherever you are, I hope it's cooler than it is in southern Virginia. UGH. I am mostly staying inside - or going from my home to my car to the store to the car to my home. Sound familiar? It's the MS Two-Step! The MS-bestie (MSties?) Macarena. I've got my cooling vest on and cold water (preferably coconut water) in my hand. Stay cool out there MSties (now that I thought of this term, expect its overuse). So what's happening in MS?  I'm glad you asked:1.  vErTIgO 😵‍💫  Feel like the room is spinning while you're standing still? Dizziness and vertigo affect many people with multiple sclerosis, but there are strategies that can help.  Managing Vertigo When You Have MS

3.  Methylphenidate, a stimulant sometimes used to manage fatigue in MS, may also ease oculomotor (eye movement) symptoms and increase how quickly the brain processes visual information, according to a pilot study by Kessler Foundation in New Jersey.  Methylphenidate may help with eye movement, processing speed in MS4.  This H🥵T weather is a real problem for a lot of us with MS. Others are really bothered by C🥶LD weather. Some of us are impacted by both! 🙃. Here's an interesting look at all the considerations of where to live if you have MS: Why Your Zip Code Matters if You Have Multiple Sclerosis.  5.  I LOVE the words "newly discovered." It makes my heart go pitter patter.  Using a newly developed molecular analysis, a research team has discovered previously unknown subsets of immune cells and genes that may play a role in multiple sclerosis (MS) and other immune-mediated diseases.  Newly discovered sets of immune cells, genes may influence MS6.  What in the actual F-bomb now?? MS patients exhibited greater resistance to the effects of insulin — the hormone responsible for keeping the body’s blood sugar levels within a healthy range — and had higher overall insulin levels compared with people without the neurodegenerative disease, a meta-analysis of published studies found.  MS patients show greater resistance to insulin effects______________________________Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning I get a commission if you decide to purchase through my links, AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU. KATHY RECOMMENDS:Happy Amazon Prime Day!!  Lots of deals over there.  As such, here is my FUMS Amazon store where I recommend products that help me live life with MS well:  FUMS Amazon StoreClinical Trials Recruiting MS PatientsEfficacy and Safety of Ofatumumab and Siponimod Compared to Fingolimod in Pediatric Patients With Multiple Sclerosis (NEOS) - Efficacy and safety of ofatumumab and siponimod compared to fingolimod in PEDIATRIC patients with multiple sclerosisVancomycin Study in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) - The overall goal of this study is to elucidate a mechanism by which vancomycin modulates the gut-brain axis in multiple sclerosis (MS). The gut microbiome plays an important role in autoimmunity, including MS. However, the identity of gut microbes modulating neuroinflammation in MS and their mechanisms of action remain obscure. Hence, here the research team proposes to investigate the effects of vancomycin on the gut microbiota composition, peripheral immune function, and brain MRI lesions in MS patients. That's all folks. Let me know if you have any questions or if I can help you in any way. Otherwise, just keep saying FUMS!! 🧡Cheers -- KathyKathy Reagan YoungFounderFUMS
