FUMS Friday Night 6-Pack 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

Hello friends --How's everyone doing this week? Is it just me or has this COVID-19 thing hit harder mentally lately? I don't know if it's the kids not being able to go back to a normal school schedule or the heat and humidity keeping me inside more or that COVID is surging once again and people are resisting wearing masks based on their right not to have to wear one. Maybe it's a combination of the whole, sad mess. Either way, I'm feeling down. How about YOU? How are YOU and YOURS doing? Hit "reply" to this email and let me know. I truly care about you all and LOVE to hear from you. Your responses definitely cheer me up!!Alrighty then. Let's see what happened in the MS world this week:1.  This one actually made me a little happy: New research suggests that low-to-moderate alcohol consumption may reduce cognitive decline in older adults. Cheers to You, My Friends!!2.  I’ve talked to a lot of MS’ers over the years that have found great help with their nerve pain (and other pain, and sleep, and and anxiety) with CBD. How about YOU??  Best CBD Products for Nerve Pain 3.  Complementary and alternative medicines are increasingly popular among people with multiple sclerosis (MS) in the northwestern United States, a survey found. Do you use any alternative therapies??  Alternative Meds for People With MS4.  Do you talk to your doctor about the costs of #MS? If not - you should. They may make different choices for your care based on your concerns - and it's really good for doctors to understand the ramifications of their choices - AND - it important they understand the actual costs associated with these treatments.  Speak Up!5.  Pretty cool: JuneBrain, a startup company that is developing a wearable head imaging device that enables multiple sclerosis patients to remotely monitor their disease activity and treatment response, has received a $50,000 investment through TEDCO’s Builder Fund, the investor announced.  MS Imaging Start Up6.  SUPER EXCITING!! The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada and its partner, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), have invested CA$1.5 million to open a clinical trial that will investigate the potential of two cannabis derivatives — cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) — in treating spasticity (muscle stiffness) and other symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS). FINALLY!!  Trial of Cannabis Derivatives to Treat MS SpasticityBetween this newsletter, the FUMS Blog, the FUMS Podcast Show, and now Patients Getting Paid, I could really use some support. If you get value from any and/or all of these resources I provide and would like to show your appreciation, please check out my Patreon page to see how your monthly contribution could help me AND get you some cool rewards.
