FUMS 6-Pack 🍻🍻🍻

Hello friends --I'm just back from a week long trip to Minnesota with my daughters. We picked rocks on the shores of Lake Superior in Duluth, drove further north and saw family, then back down to Minneapolis to see more family and take in the George Floyd Memorial, the beautiful city and TRY to go to Paisley Park (Prince's home & recording studio). Note to those wanting to tour Paisley Park: you need to have tickets 2-3 weeks ahead of your visit. Maybe next time!! 💜Hope you all are doing well. You know I love to hear from you so - if you have a minute - just hit "reply" to this email and let me know how you're doing. Enough chatter lady - let's get to the good stuff. Ok, ok. Here you go:1. Do you experience difficulty swallowing?? That's actually called Dysphasia and can be a symptom of a number of neurologic disease including - wait for it - MS. Here's some info: MS Dysphagia2. OK - here's another of the lovely gifts of MS: Spasticity. Mine is mostly in my upper back and shoulders. YAY!! How about you?? Here's a good article about it: Spasticity in MS3. Sensory Overload - do you deal with this bullshit?? I do. And it was on full display in the airport as I returned from my vacation. It's when the lights, the movement of all the people, the overhead announcements, the changing screens, etc., congeal to feel overwhelming. It happens to me in grocery stores too. Here's a column written about it by a fellow MS warrior: Grappling with Sensory Overload4. The risk of erectile dysfunction was about three times greater in men with multiple sclerosis (MS) compared with healthy men, according to a recent meta-analysis of published studies. Got your attention, right?? Erectile Dysfunction Can Affect Most Men With MS, Analysis Suggests5. This one really wrecked my buzz: Alcohol intake is not significantly associated with an increased risk of developing multiple sclerosis (MS), but specifically drinking beer may elevate the risk, according to a recent meta-analysis. WTF?? Beer Consumption May Be Linked to MS Risk: Meta-analysis
Anything I can help you with?? Drop me a line at [email protected] or meet me over in the FUMS Facebook community and let's chat! Thanks.Warmly -- Kathy#FUMS
