Your FUMS 6-Pack Just Arrived 🥳

Hey - Hello. My name is Kathy and I'll be your server. On today's menu you'll find some tasty questions about Dementia and MS, a lovely pairing of DMTs, a side of smoldering MS, your choice of B-cell metabolism or a single drop of blood as a predictor of MS, a perfectly aged bottle of obesity drugs, and to finish your evening, a dessert of rising MS diagnoses.  I hope you'll enjoy your dining experience at Chez FUMS.🧡**I'm dedicating some time and energy 🥱 to building the 6-Pack's subscriber base. I'd so appreciate your help. I'd like to include some quotes from people who feel they've benefitted from the 6-Pack. If that describes YOU and you'd like to help me, please hit reply and send me your "testimonial" about how the 6-Pack helps you or how you've benefitted from the 6-Pack. Thanks in advance! Shall we take a gander 👀 at this week's happenings in MS?1.  I have been dealing with some pretty concerning symptoms lately: time distortion, cog fog, and a complete disconnect from recent events. Anytime we are dealing with cognitive function issues, I KNOW we all go there - "is this MS or dementia". Amiright? Scary stuff. I've had several - especially newly dx'ed MS'ers -  ask if MS can cause dementia. I saw this article and wanted to share it with you: Can MS Cause Dementia?2.  When did you start DMT and on which one did you start?? "People with MS who start treatment with a mild-to-moderate efficacy disease-modifying therapy (DMT) were more likely to switch to another DMT, an analysis of the German MS Registry finds. Starting a DMT between 2014 and 2017 was also a predictor of switching. Disease activity despite treatment was the most common reason to change DMTs.  Use of mild-to-moderate DMTs predicts switching to other DMTs3.  An abnormally active metabolism in immune B-cells can trigger the release of pro-inflammatory signaling molecules that drive further inflammation in MS, a study found. Treatments muting B-cell metabolism could ease symptoms. I L🧡VE the sound of that! Altered immune B-cell metabolism drives inflammation in MS4.  What if just one drop of blood could be a predictor of developing MS? 🤯  Think about it. Knowing that early on, pre-symptom development, having the potential to start aggressive therapy to stop it before it starts. It's so exciting for the future of this disease. But I'm getting ahead of myself. I'm such a dreamer. Read on friends: A Single Drop of Blood Could Soon Reveal Your Risk of Developing MS5.  With all the conversation of Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro being used as weight loss drugs, I got curious about whether these drug might have any benefits for MS. Well - long-time MS writer Trevis Gleason just so happened to have written something just this week on this very topic. I'm adding psychic to my resume! 😉  Obesity Drugs and Multiple Sclerosis6.  Multiple Sclerosis Diagnoses Are Rising—And Doctors Don’t Know Why  The risk of an American developing MS is now roughly 1 in 333. 😳  I have my own theories (for instance, we are sitting inside in front of computers and phones rather than outside moving and soaking up those UVB rays that convert to Vitamin D). 🌞  What do YOU think? Do YOU have a theory as to why MS diagnoses are on the rise??? I'd love to hear them. 👂🏻Kathy Recommends:It's almost summer! Do you have plans for travel?
