Hello friends --In further flare news, I'll get 2 more MRIs this week and hopefully figure out what the hell is going on! 🤞🏻 The good news is that I have been doing UVB light therapy for a couple of months and this flare hasn't caused the amount of fatigue and cog fog that I normally experience. Coincidence? Me thinks not. Stay tuned for more info on that!Ready, steady, GO:1.  Now this is interesting: Multiple sclerosis patients whose blood tests reveal elevated NfL, a biomarker of nerve damage, could see worsening disability one to two years later, according to a new study spearheaded by researchers at UC San Francisco.   Biomarker in Blood Predicts Multiple Sclerosis Progression 1 to 2 Years in Advance2.  I felt so good when I was pregnant - until about 6 weeks postpartum with each baby. In fact, it if didn't result in another child, I could be pregnant for the rest of my life! Turns out - a lot of women with MS feel really good while they're pregnant - and then not so much afterward. How about YOU??  Scientists found that the symptoms of multiple sclerosis and arthritis decrease significantly when a woman becomes pregnant, and set out to discover why. Potential new cure for MS and arthritis found in pregnant women (click baity title, but interesting content)3.  Researchers have discovered a potential link between the microbe C. perfringens and the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). The study suggests that an epsilon toxin from the bacteria might degrade the blood-brain barrier, initiating the debilitating symptoms of MS. This breakthrough sheds light on the potential environmental trigger of MS and paves the way for therapeutic innovations.  Unveiling the Link: Can Common Bacteria Activate Multiple Sclerosis?4.  Chronic pain can make it harder for people with MS to be physically active, but some types of pain have a bigger effect than others, a study suggests. The findings show not just whether a patient is having chronic pain needs to be considered, but also what kind of pain, so personalized exercise programs can be developed.  Study: Some types of MS pain make exercise more difficult  Can I get an amen??  Maybe a "no shit, Sherlock?"5.  An artificial intelligence (AI) program, called iQ-MS, outperforms traditional radiologist-based measures at quantifying changes in lesions over time in people with multiple sclerosis (MS), a new study shows. AI tool has potential to better track MS lesions over time6.  Do you do PT - Physical Therapy??  PT plays a key role when it comes to alleviating some of the biggest issues of multiple sclerosis, including restoring balance, strength, and mobility.  How Can Physical Therapy Help With MS? Well - that's all folks.
