FUMS Friday Night 6-Pack

Hello friends --What's up?? Hope you all are doing well. Here on the East Coast of the U.S., we're dealing with Hurricane Florence. My family and I evacuated to Washington, D.C.. As it turns out, it looks like we really didn't have to but - we rarely get a chance to enjoy family time together - and do fun touristy things. My husband is a golf pro so weekends and holidays - and most every other day - he's at the course. LOVE me some bad weather!! So - here are my 6 top picks for happenings in the world of MS this past week:1) Stem cell therapy is very interesting to a lot of us. But it is incredibly complex. For instance, there are different types of stem cells, there are different types of procedures, there are clinics all over the world making all kinds of claims and it's still in the experimental stage here in the U.S. Here's a good article that helps explain some of the intricacies of it: Stem Cell Therapy 2) It is still unclear what causes multiple sclerosis, but new research closes in on the faulty immune system mechanisms involved in the development of this condition. MS Culprit Identified3) MRIs may help doctors predict MS progression. Would you want to know?? Progression Predictor4) I'm always looking for ways to hack my daily life stuff - I like efficiency and when MS fatigue kicks in, I need every hack I can get. Here are some good ones: Meal Prep Hacks5) Do you have a go-to response for when people doubt your #MS? Here's a list of come backs that may help: 10 Mic-Drop Responses For the Doubters6) Although I evac'ed - the show must go on! As such, I give you the latest FUMS Podcast Show episode that just dropped today! It's a good one too. All about accessible travel! I interviewed Tarita Davenock of Travel For All. She has MS and all of her employees have disabilities - and they all love to travel. So don't give up on your travel dreams. Let Tarita and her crew help plan an accessible trip!! Listen here: FUMS 021 - Travel Without Limits. So that's it gang. I'm off to the Newseum in DC. I've wanted to see it for years!! Can't wait. Hope you all have wonderful weekends. For the FUMS'ers still in Florence's way, please be safe and check in with us over in the FUMS Facebook community and let us know how you're doing! Thanks.Warmly -- Kathy#FUMS
