The FUMS 6 Pack 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

Hello friends --It's finally starting to cool off here in Virginia Beach!! 🥵 What a horribly hot summer it was. I have always loved Fall - most of all - but this year in particular, I'm so grateful for the cooler temperatures. How's the weather where you are? Does the change of seasons jack up your MS?? Hit reply to this email and let me know. I LOVE hearing from you. xxoOk - let's get after it.1. Taking supplements of the sugar molecule N-acetylglucosamine, known as GlcNAc, was found to decrease markers of inflammation in people with MS in a small clinical trial. Moreover, nearly a third of trial participants reported less severe disability following a month of daily GlcNAc supplements. This trial was small and open-labeled so - we need to see a larger scale, randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial before we get too excited. But - I like the ongoing research in various directions! Also - it's not sugar like I like. I got excited thinking a could just add a tub o'Rocky Road ice cream daily but alas, that's not it! Taking sugar molecule supplements may help ease inflammation in MS2. An experimental vaccine that erases the immune system’s memory of a molecule could be used to stop autoimmune reactions like those seen in multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes or coeliac disease. Exciting? You bet. Here's hoping 🤞🏻 ‘Inverse vaccine’ may reverse symptoms in autoimmune diseases like MS3. I know there are a number of us that are concerned about the possibility of adding Alzheimer's to our existing carousel of ever-mounting diagnosis (why are we such over achievers??). Here's some exciting news for us: Researchers have found that an intranasal immunotherapy drug, currently being tested as a treatment for multiple sclerosis, reduced brain inflammation and improved cognition in mice with Alzheimer’s disease, independent of the amount of beta-amyloid plaques present. They say the treatment could benefit people in the later stages of the disease. Boggin in the Noggin4. There is a newly updated COVID vaccine available now. I'm scheduled to get it tomorrow. It's a great time to share this good news: Study Finds No Link Between Vaccines and MS Flare-Ups5. I had not yet been diagnosed when I had my babies. I know that women who have struggle with what, if any, therapy to be on during pregnancy. Here is some good news: Disease-Modifying Therapies May Be Safe for Mother and Baby6. MS, in and of itself, is a huge headache. Amiright? Now - we know why: People with MS about 2 times more likely than healthy people to have them. About 1 in 4 MS patients experience migraines Are you one of the lucky ones? Do you get migraines?? I do. UGH. Again - why are we such overachievers???Well - that's all folks. I sure hope you found value in this newsletter. If so, please do me the great honor of sharing it with others that could benefit from it. Are you a member of an MS group on social media?
